Atlanta Therapist | Business Consultant | Clinical Supervisor

There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow. Today is the right day to Love, Believe, Do and mostly Live.

Jessica Schmoll, MS, LPC, CPCS

Hi – I’m Jessica, and I’m the founder of Wiser Ground. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) with 19 years’ experience in the field of mental health. During that time, I have worked in a private practice setting and in psychiatric hospitals, run a community mental health clinic and led a long-term residential treatment center. I also served in a leadership role developing mental healthcare strategy for the state of Georgia for a multi-billion-dollar, nonprofit corporation. I’ve led workshops and trainings, spoken on panels and at a fancy mental health summit, and completed two master’s degrees in business and in counseling.

Sounds impressive, no? The thing is, I was sleep-walking and missing the mark in my life and work, year after year, pushing forward despite being unhappy. I was a “reluctant leader” of sorts. And throughout… So. Many. Growing. Pains. Imposter Syndrome. Stress. Burnout. Exhaustion, depression, anxiety, no boundaries. Sunday scarries, Monday scarries… (you get the picture). My poor nervous system did not appreciate my choices. BUT, since I believe there is meaning in our experiences, I just had to take a beat and find it. Just like you have to find it. For me, it’s choosing connection with myself and others, balance in and out of work, compassion (including for myself), and peace. It’s choosing to wake up, and make big changes in my career, and in my life.

Now, I wholeheartedly offer therapy for executives, professionals, and/or leaders, as well as any adult seeking support to manage this journey that is life. You can breathe with me, and you don’t need to carry it all alone. If you are feeling down or having trouble navigating a life that just feels exhausting most of the time, therapy can be really helpful. Finding the vulnerability to ask for help is hard, I know. Living with intention takes energy, I get it. Thankfully I got tired of living by default – same thing, different day. But you, you don’t have to live fearful of pain and change like I did. If you are in a position (at work or in life) that feels over your head or are doing tasks that feel out of alignment with your interests, values, or goals, I’m here. We’ll find the space you need to get you aligned with your authenticity and courage, and as it turns out, I find inspiration in helping others do exactly that.

But how? I believe the therapeutic relationship is the primary agent for change, so I focus on the here and now, the way if feels in the room, and I gently offer support and guidance on making small shifts that can equate to sizeable change in time. I may utilize strategies from various theories/therapies like CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), existentialism (finding meaning), boundary setting, self-compassion work, mindfulness, among others. I take an eclectic approach to treatment and ensure you are getting your unique needs met. If this sounds like what you need, I look forward to hearing from you!
